Marked was birthed out of a multitude of emotions—a few stemming from my position as an African American male and being the first person in my family to travel outside of North America. Flying across the Atlantic for the first time to a land that I’ve only visualized through images that were not my own was a surreal feeling. My goal was to embody these emotions but I would have never expected them to manifest as such. - Peter Brown
